Thomas Schoon Named General Manager, Westcon Germany

Mönchengladbach, Germany, April 17, 2007--Westcon Group GmbH, a channel provider of networking technology products and a subsidiary of the multi-national Westcon Group, Inc., announced that Thomas Schoon has been appointed general manager of Westcon Germany. Mr. Schoon will report to Barry Shakespeare, executive vice president Westcon Group Europe, and will be responsible for Westcon’s business operations and growth in the German and Austria marketplace.

Schoon, who has more than 12 years of experience in the IT and telecoms industry, previously served as Westcon Group’s vice president marketing, Europe and has held various other management roles within the organization. He was recently responsible for the successful launch of Westcon Europe’s VoicePoint and SecurityPoint solutions programs, key elements of the distributor’s value proposition to vendors and resellers. In his new position, Thomas Schoon will be charged with managing every aspect of the day-to-day business including sales, professional services, training, marketing services and finance.
