Welcome to Westcon Academy

Westcon Academy offers a comprehensive set of training services designed to educate your staff and help them better understand the advanced technology solutions they are selling and servicing.

We have created a dedicated training programme, with several tracks:

1. General technology and security fundamentals training
to take you through everything you need to know to grow your business into new business areas or as an ideal starter for new employees in your company.
Our general technology and security fundamental course learning materials have been developed based on industry requirements and in conjunction with subject matter experts from both the research, development and commercial sectors.

2. Vendor specific certification training courses.
These courses have been designed for presales and post sales engineers and consultants to enable them to pass the relevant accreditation courses. LAB equipment is provided but students are generally asked to bring their own Laptops.

3. Product Workshops.
These tend to be technology update sessions for new code and feature releases. The aim is to disseminate vendor information to our existing partners. These are generally free to attend although a deposit is required to ensure we get notification from students who can't make it. These courses are much in demand and we try to accommodate all those wishing to attend.

Delegates will gain an understanding of why security is important in a communications network, the current threats and the different components that are required to secure the network. We will also discuss VoIP and WiFi security issues. This is non vendor specific course which is designed to give you the foundations to help identify when and where to use the different security products available on the market and understand their function.

This is a condensed version of the standard BCCPA course. More Info
Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professional (BCCPP) Course	01/07/09	Slough	The Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professional (BCCPP) Course is a 3-day course intended for students who wish to master the advanced features of Blue Coat products. This course is a revised version of the course formerly known as Advanced Proxy Solutions. The BCCPP Course focuses on advanced features in Blue Coat’s most recent operating system. More Info
PacketShaper Bootcamp Course	06/07/09	Chertsey	This 5 day Bootcamp course combines the two 3 day Packeteer Specialist (PAC0001) and Packeteer Advanced Traffic Analysis and Troubleshooting )PAC0002) courses into a condensed 5-day delivery. This instructor-led course guides a networksavvy candidate from an introduction to the PacketShaper, through basic PacketShaper operations to advanced analysis and troubleshooting topics in a mix of approximately 35% / 65% lecture and hands-on labs. Juniper Network Infrastructure ‘Hands On’ Technical Workshop	13/07/09	Slough	This one day technical workshop covers the Juniper Network Infrastructure product range and is intended for pre-sales, post sales and technical personnel to get hands on experience with the EX Switches, Routing and JunOS operating system. This is an excellent opportunity to become familiar with this part of Juniper’s portfolio in a relaxed environment and explore the strengths of their solutions.
