The Crossbeam Next Generation Security Platform allows companies to consolidate racks of security appliances and network equipment like switches and load balancers, virtualize the deployment and delivery of security applications, and dramatically simplify delivery of security services.

Crossbeam has the unique ability to tightly integrate leading-edge hardware with industry-leading third-party security applications like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, intrusion preventions systems, content gateways, and others. As a result, security services are not embedded in the networks as racks of special-purpose appliances, switches, and load balancers. By consolidating application processing and providing virtualization capabilities, the Next Generation Security Platform creates a security layer that overlays the company network.

 X-Series Security Platform

 The Crossbeam X-Series Security Platform uses a patent-pending system architecture that consists of the chassis (X40, X45, and X80) and three hardened components: the Network Processor Module (NPM), the Control Processor Module (CPM), and the Application Processor Module (APM). This combination results in the industry's best performing and most highly available and reliable Next Generation Security Platform. The X-Series technologies are tied together by a sophisticated architecture that removes the need for external switches, load balancers, taps, or port mirrors. This consolidation creates the most secure and economical defense model available today.

 The X-Series is powered by the Crossbeam X-Series Operating System (XOS^TM) software, which offers several unique features. One key XOS innovation is "secure flow processing" which offers the ability to logically sequence flows from one virtualized instance of a security application to another. Secure flow processing enables security policy sequences to occur on a virtual plane, as if, for example, switches, load balancers, and patch cables were all physically installed between an intrusion prevention service and a firewall. This process is accomplished at wire speed, with active management of data flows and load balancing with "state" maintained for firewalls and content gateways.

 C-Series Security Platform

The Crossbeam C-Series Security Platform is built from the same bedrock as the market-leading X-Series. The solution offers comprehensive security applications, high availability, and performance that is perfect for small- to medium-sized businesses, enterprises with extended security deployments to branch offices or remote sites, and managed service providers looking to offer security service delivery to their subscriber base.

The C-Series supplies a choice of best-of-breed third-party security applications such as firewall, VPN, IDS, anti-virus, URL filtering, and content scanning at unrivalled performance levels. Available in four models - C2, C6, C12, and C25 - the C-Series platforms offer different densities of interfaces and high availability features. The Crossbeam C2 and C6 are perfect for perimeter, mail, browser, and server protection. The Crossbeam C12 and C25 provide high-performance and availability on a single platform for layered security with best-of-breed applications.

The C-Series architecture is specifically designed to allow tight application integration, to quickly and cost-effectively meet all network security requirements, both identified and anticipated. The flexible architecture can meet a multitude of deployment scenarios as a dedicated device or a multi-function security platform.

 The Crossbeam' SecureShore Network Management System (NMS) provides full configuration, management, and monitoring support for all Crossbeam Next Generation Security Platforms. SecureShore NMS is a comprehensive multi-element network management system for multi-box configuration, OS backup and restore, reporting, application distribution, and event scheduling. Deep feature configuration support and multiple automation options make SecureShore the right fit for networks with up to 1,000 devices.
